The Legacy of Cannon Mill Lofts
Built in the 1850s, the Cannon Knitting Mill powered Hamilton’s rise as a hub of Canadian manufacturing. For generations, it produced socks, uniforms, and textiles, employing thousands and shaping the identity of a growing city.

But like so many industrial sites, the mill eventually fell silent - until now.
Cannon Mills honours that history, not by erasing it, but by integrating it into every detail. Original walls and beams have been preserved. Machinery remains on display in the block-long galleria. The past isn’t a backdrop — it’s part of the experience.

This is heritage reimagined: a place where yesterday’s architecture supports tomorrow’s lives.
